hmm.... the end of an era? the start of a new one? hmmm....food for thought...
cut from the shackles,
like a pheonix i will rise,
from the ashes of yore,
to heights never been before.
better not think too much, it spoils the beauty of the moment.
down with a sore throat. must be the bad weather these few days. of cos, the foul weather being as guilty as my wanton 'celebrations' for the end exams. hmmm...all in all, i reap wat i sow. so gonna 'enjoy' my sore throat for all it is worth this coming week.
the progress package seems to hi-lite my tendency to overspend, or at least being poor in planning my finances. now i know how highly paid footballers can squander their semmingly endless fortunes away. wat a price to learn this lesson.
the elections came and went. the victors were more or less the same old few though i thought the opposition did put up a good fight. actually, in my opinion, both sides were pretty crappy in terms of putting up concrete plans for the near future. PAP was mostly about upgrading this upgrading that, opposition was all about checks and balances ( as if 1 or 2 seats in a 84 seat parliment is ). wat i want to hear wld be how on earth are they gg to put in programs to help the ppl tat cant catch up with our society. how to find jobs for the lesser educated, how to help them deal with the endless bills that prevents them from breaking this vicious cycle of poverty. but i neither heard nor seen anything remotely connected to such issues....so maybe next time i hope i might hear some concrete practical plans for a change.
after all, there is only so much ideology one can take and bread and butter issues certainly takes precedence over ideology. at least in my book.
LKY's own talk show (branded as a dialouge) was hilarious and sobering at the same time. funny was the way he shot down those youngsters, wat chance has these youngsters have against a seasoned politician/lawyer like lao lee in the 1st place? sobering part was that LKY is still ever so alert and lucid despite his advanced years when some of his (still-living) peers might be bed-ridden or has lost some of their reasoning powers. hats off to LKY, he deserves the respect.
England's World Cup hopes died at the precise moment when 82 minutes into the match at stamford bridge between chelsea and manchester united, a certain ogre look alike lad suffered a misfortunate double fracture in his right foot. No 1 can replace him. absolutely no one. not even gerrard, lampard, joe cole, beckham, carrick. he is the one irreplaceable cog in the the wheel and this had to happen to him. God save the 3 Lions now. For they need all the luck to just survive the group stages now.
