saw dolly's 3rd year's anniversary notice in the papers a few days back and woah, was reminded that time passes real fast. 3 years already. wondered how many actually noticed. the fast passage of time, I meant.
i guess at some stage of life, sooner or later we must face the departure of the people or the stuff close to us. People and stuff that matters to us like family, friends, etc etc.
I dun think one can ever be ready to lose something that matters at any point of their lives. I think its more of an reaction then anything else. who would wanna lose those that matters?
Look at those who die recently in those far off lands. of coz, i feel for them. with such enormous media exposure, who wouldnt? not implying that its only due to the extensive media exposure that we shld feel for them. after all, they are human beings as well. like you and me.
Was chatting with QX about making the rite decision the other day and as usual, we both have very differing views on what consitutes a right decision. His was that the rite decision doesnt always have to be happy all the time. his analogy was a good one but shallnt elaborate here. got me kinda convinced...but i still think rite decisions and happiness go hand in hand. If not, i rather be wrong or change the entire value system to be happy. crap huh.
Death Be Not Proud
by John Donne
(1572-1631)
DEATH be not proud, though some have called thee
Mighty and dreadfull, for, thou art not so,
For, those, whom thou think'st, thou dost overthrow,
Die not, poore death, nor yet canst thou kill me.
From rest and sleepe, which but thy pictures bee,
Much pleasure, then from thee, much more must flow,
And soonest our best men with thee doe goe,
Rest of their bones, and soules deliverie.
Thou art slave to Fate, Chance, kings, and desperate men,
And dost with poyson, warre, and sicknesse dwell,
And poppie, or charmes can make us sleepe as well,
And better then thy stroake; why swell'st thou then;
One short sleepe past, wee wake eternally,
And death shall be no more; death, thou shalt die.
